As the only Main Street, U.S.A. vehicles that have been in operation since Disneyland park opened, the horse-drawn streetcars are an iconic attraction at the Disneyland Resort. One can almost hear the sound of horses and the clang of a streetcar bell when envisioning Main Street, U.S.A.
Vehicles like these were popular in towns throughout America from the mid-1800s through the early 1900s, when motorized vehicles replaced them. Because the streetcars at Disneyland park, based on actual streetcars from the 1880s, use metal wheels and track, resistance is minimized, making even a fully loaded streetcar easy to pull for our four-legged cast members.
