TMSM’s Adventures in Florida Living ~ Disney Decor and More!

March 14, 2018

Happy Wednesday! I hope you’re all doing well! Me? I’m exhausted! Let’s chat!

As I said in last weeks blog, we finally got a house of our own. We have been renting here in Florida since we moved almost four years ago. Wow, four years! Anyway, the thought there was that we’d rent to make sure that we wanted to stay in Florida, buying a home was too major for me and I didn’t want to commit. Not to mention, I hate change and struggle with it, so I have to do things gradually. When we were deciding to move to Florida for the greater good of TMSM, I kept telling myself, if it’s meant to be things will fall into place. And it did. The same thing goes for the new place. All just sort of fell into place again, so I had to go with it. So in the past week, we have been working continuously on getting the new house painted and such, so that we can move in within a couple of weeks. It’s exhausting but worth it.

I had forgotten how much work that home ownership is. When we rented, we didn’t do home improvements and such because well, it’s not our house. This is a whole new ball of wax as they say. Paint colors, decorating, etc. Painting…. oh the painting. The good part is I think I lost a few pounds from the stress and manual labor, that’s a plus. The new house needs Disney decor. Of course. I don’t want to overdo it on decor and have the place look like a theme park or that a ten year old picked out colors… but it needs some Disney. Heck, Disney is why we moved here, so it’s a must. So far, I have plans to do a Tangled themed bathroom. Not as good as the Punzie Potties at the Magic Kingdom, I wish, but a version of it on my own. How awesome would it be if I could paint the swirls and suns like they have at the MK? Since I’m not that talented, I bought paint and the glitter you can add to it. We shall see what happens. Our guest bedroom/office is going to be a Haunted Mansion theme. I already have wall decor so now I’ll have a place to hang it. Like with everything else in my life, it’s a work in progress. I’ll be sure to share photos of what we come up with, it will be interesting.

All this house work means less Disney time. There have been Main Streeters in town the past couple of weeks who wanted to meet up and say hello but I just couldn’t. Between the kids school schedules, work, and now moving…. it’s a lot. Just know I do try, and feel bad when we can’t. This too shall pass and in a few weeks hopefully we can breathe a little. Maybe not though…. we have two conventions coming up! Memorial Day Weekend TMSM will be at MegaCon in Orlando! We’ve never had a booth there, and I’m excited. It’s going to be crazy. Two weeks after that, we’ll be guests at Magic City Con in Alabama again! We had such a good time last year, and are excited to go again. Getting out there and meeting the people who support what we do is the best, I love it. So on that note, I have to wrap up for this week. Yes, there’s work to do! Thank you all so much for reading this series every Wednesday evening, it means more than you know. Until next time, sending you lots of love, blessings and pixie dust! See ya real soon! ~M
