TMSM’s Adventures in Florida Living ~ Fun, Field Trips and the Flu

Happy Wednesday Everyone! I hope you’re doing well this evening, better than we are! It’s been a bumpy week here, lets catch up!

As you know, we just got back from a media trip aboard the Disney Dream, which was awesome. So awesome that we didn’t want the trip to be over. Well, real life was back last week, and with that came some sickness! By Saturday morning, my husband and younger kiddo started coming down with something. Sinus, fever, sneezing… all of it. I managed to stay healthy, which is a shock considering I’m usually the one who gets sick. Here we are at Wednesday, and my older kid is still sick and hasn’t been at school all week. He’s dreading the amount of homework that will be waiting for him. But it seems like everyone in our area is sick. The wait at urgent care was three hours minimum today. Ugh. I’m praying that my household is on the mend now, it’s been a long week. On a good note, Aidan (younger son) got to go on a field trip to the Magic Kingdom. How cool is that? They got to go behind the scenes at the Haunted Mansion and learn about the lighting and mirror tricks in the ballroom scene. He was so excited when he got home, but I told him not to spoil the “magic” for me and tell me how it’s done. Yes, I’m a big kid too. When I was a kid, we never had amazing field trips like that! But then again, in Michigan, Greenfield Village in Dearborn was like the ONLY place people went on school trips. That and the science center! It’s a different world here in Central Florida, that’s for sure. I’m glad he had fun though!

It’s mid week and our household is laying low. I’m keeping a close eye on Andrew, I worry when the kids don’t feel well. Yes I’m one of THOSE parents who hover and I make no apologies for that. This weekend we have a media event aboard the Disney Fantasy at Port Canaveral. Yes, another cruise ship, but this time we don’t get to actually leave on it! There’s a Star Wars event on the ship, and I get to bring the family with me, as long as they’re all better. Being that we just got back from our trip on the Dream, I’m pretty excited to see what the Fantasy is all about. People told me that once I did a Disney Cruise, that I’d want to go back. They were spot on, we’re all hooked! I’m hoping we all get to go on Saturday, but time will tell. Well, that’s it for this week. I know it’s pretty uneventful compared to most weeks, but life happens and things come up, and next week should be better. I hope! Thank you as always for keeping up with us each and every week, I sure do appreciate it. Until next time, sending you love, blessings and pixie dust. See ya real soon! ~M
