Happy Wednesday Main Streeters! I hope this evening, you’re doing well and are ready to chat!  It’s been a hot, humid, rainy week here in Central Florida.  School is back in session and it’s time to get back to reality…. well, Florida reality!

This summer went by so fast.  Between all our traveling for TMSM, it went by quicker than usual.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m so thankful for the experiences we’ve had and being able to show the kids new parts of the country, it just went by quickly is all.  School started in our county last Thursday.  The night before, I had the kids get their clothes and backpacks ready so that in the morning things would run as smooth as possible.  Of course Thursday morning, I had them take their traditional back to school pics, they don’t even fight me anymore on it, they know I’ll insist anyway.  I swear, those boys are growing up far too fast, I’m not ready.  Next year they’ll be in the same school again, so that’s only one place for pick up and dropping off.  But, I’m trying not to rush it.  I just hope they have a safe, happy, and successful school year!

Friday night we had friends over for pizza and snacks. With the kids starting school, it was kind of like an end of summer party. I love having company, I always did. That’s one thing I miss about living in Michigan, having people over or going visiting often. The kids miss that too, so this is a good thing. There of course was rain in the forecast for Saturday, so we were on the fence as to what to do. I wanted to get my hands on a pair of those new rose gold colored mouse ears that hit the parks last week, so I knew we’d be going to Disney at some point. We went to Animal Kingdom for a bit, and yes it rained. We hadn’t been to Pandora since the beginning of the summer, we haven’t been home. It was nice to be back at Disney, but I didn’t find those mouse ears. I actually started making my own, so watch for that. Yes, another project, but you know me, I always have something going on!

Also this weekend, was the closure of two classic Disney attractions, The Great Movie Ride and Ellen’s Energy Adventure. Truthfully, I won’t miss the Universe of Energy. After seeing what Disney did in California Adventure with Guardians of the Galaxy, I can’t wait to see what they do in this spot at Epcot! So exciting! As for the Great Movie Ride, yes I’ll miss it. It brought a lot of memories that I’ll always treasure. But, I’m ready to see what Disney has coming next. It’s going to be a Mickey and Minnie ride, so I’m sure it will be magical. I can’t wait. Last night we were invited to try the new Buca di Beppo in Celebration, which was awesome. I can’t say enough good things, I did a review this afternoon, be sure to check it out if you missed it. Awesome food. I love work trips, I’m in my element. Speaking of, we are going to be busy with work events EVERY single weekend in September. Disney invited us to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party on September 1st, which I can’t wait for. The following weekend there’s a media day for Epcot’s Food and Wine Fest. The weekend after that is Spooky Day in the Parks weekend, and the last Saturday in September is our big annual TMSM Meet Up. Whew, I’m tired just thinking about it. But, you know what? It’s a good tired. I love my job. As tired as I get, or even with how much pressure I put on myself, I still know that it’s a blessing that I get to do what I love. I’m always working hard to give as much as I can to our readers, and with a great staff, it’s been even better. For details on our meet up, check out the event tab on TMSM’s main Facebook page! All are welcome!

This week, I also started up my side project again, at www.micheleatwood.com. This is a spot that I can write about a variety of topics, not just Disney. Of course there’s Disney there too, but I digress. After my book came out, I had gotten a lot of feedback, and requests to keep writing more, especially inspirational blogs. It’s a labor of love, truly. If I can make even ONE person feel inspired or offer some much needed encouragement, then I’m satisfied with that. Be sure to subscribe to my email list over there, so you don’t miss a post. There’s more to come! Well, that’s about it for this week. Things have been busy, and that seems like it will be the pattern for weeks to come! Thank you so much for keeping up with us every week. The world is such a crazy and unsettling place right now, and we hope TMSM gives you a little piece of happiness and magic daily. We sure do try! Until next time, sending you love, blessings and pixie dust… See ya real soon! ~M
