Part of the Blockbuster Summer campaign that Disney World has going on includes the new show, The Music of Pixar, A Symphony of Characters, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. In May I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek of the new show at a media event, but this past weekend we actually went to watch the entire production. If you love Pixar movies, they you will love this show. Guests get to see clips of their favorite Pixar films, while a live orchestra plays the music along with the scenes. The movies featured are Toy Story, Up, Cars, Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo/Dory, and The Incredibles. Each section is amazing. We even get to see some of our favorite characters on stage as an added bonus.
Again this show is more like a symphony concert, rather than what we usually see from Disney. The music is beautiful, I think I cried for over half the show. The scenes they show, like Andy leaving for college or Carl losing Ellie… in conjunction with the amazing orchestra. Well it’s a little overwhelming if you are a sap like myself. Bring tissues with you just in case, I was glad that I had some. At the end of the show, the orchestra plays the classic song “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” as the words roll across the screen. The characters come back out one final time as well. You can watch the entire show below. Don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more!
