New Exciting Dining Experiences

Happy Foodie Friday! We have so much exciting food news to share with you this week! Earlier this week, the Food & Beverage Team announced some upcoming culinary events at Walt Disney Parks & Resorts they are calling Appetizing Occasions, and we couldn’t be more excited about them, so let’s jump right in!

In the continuation of the Delicious Disney dining series, which incorporates classic Disney storytelling with food, the next dinner is on May 31st at Markham’s at Golden Oak. The dinner will celebrate the “Flowers and Trees,” from the 1932 Silly Symphonies cartoon produced by Walt Disney. Featured Checks will be John Clark from Park Events Operations alongside Chef Phillip Ponticelli from Golden Oak.

There are also 2 more in the series that have been announced. The June 28th dinner is a culinary tribute to “Ratatouille” and will take place at Citricos at the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa. Following that, on July 19, the series will continue at the Flying Fish, featuring dishes from Chef Timothy Majoras that focus on the exotic and exquisite takes from under the sea. There is limited seating for these events. Reservations can be made by calling 407-939-5773.

If you are looking for something do to on July 4th, head over to the Grand Floridian Resort and Spa’s Summerhouse for a cookout with all the fixins! The cookout includes steak, shrimp, hot dogs, baked beans, sides, and specialty drinks, wine, and beer. There will be a live DJ and activities for kids. After dinner, guests will go to the Grand Floridian Marina for desserts and a view of the Magic Kingdom’s July 4th fireworks show. The cost for this is $120/adults and $59 for ages 3-11. Tax is not included but gratuity is. Call 407-WDW-DINE for reservations.

In new restaurant news, Disney Springs is getting two new restaurants as work on the West Side begins. Jaleo, which will bring the flavors of Spain to Disney Springs, is a concept from Chef Jose Andres, a world-renowned chef. The restaurant will be multi-levels will feature an extensive menu of traditional and contemporary Spanish cuisine.

To add to his existing spot at Disney Springs, Wolfgang Puck will open a new restaurant called Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill. The restaurant menu will feature some of Puck’s signature dishes as well as feature a new take on the ‘bar and grill’ concept. Slated to open in 2018, Jaleo and Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill will be sure to tickle the tastebuds of guests.

And not to leave Disneyland out, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa will continue the popular Napa Rose series. The seminars are one-hour each on Saturdays between 2 – 3pm and include three cheese, two charcuterie-style tastes, and 5 wines. The cost is $95 and reservations can be made by calling 714-781-3463.
