Over the last few weeks we have shared with you that the 2017 runDisney Virtual Running Short series would be returning this summer and that there was official swag you could purchase for this event through the Disney Store online.
Today we are excited to share with you these amazing 2017 Pluto inspired medals you can earn when you walk, skip, dance, swim or run these 5ks! While you decide what day you run or walk your 5k as well as it’s location, each race in the series still has a completion window. If you sign up for the Challenge (all 3 races) you will also receive a a Virtual Running Shorts Series Finisher Medal plus a Coolcore towel.
While the virtual series will not have a way for you to submit your completion time you can share your achievements on social media using the hashtag #runDisneyShorts. Participants can also download Digital Race bibs for each events and we have each race’s bib link below to make it easier for you to find them! Today we also learned that if you sign up for the Virtual Running Shorts Series by April 30, 2017 you will “receive a commemorative dog tag for your favorite pet and a collapsible bowl.” To register for the 2017 runDisney Virtual Shorts series visit Active.com’s website!
June’s 5k completion time frame is June 1 – June 30, 2017 and has a medal that centers around Pluto’s dog tag and collar with a playful yellow lanyard. June registration is open from April 11- June 29, 2017. July’s Virtual Running Short bib can be downloaded here.

Those that sign up for the entire series and complete all three 5ks will earn the Virtual Running Shorts Series Finisher Medal, which” combines all of the fun Pluto-themed elements from the individual medals.” You must register for the Virtual Running Shorts Series to receive the Running Shorts Pluto Series Medal and Coolcore towel in addition to the three individual race medals. From runDisney: Runners track their own times, and completion is based on the honor system. Once the runner completes their run, they will visit the finisher website to submit their results and download their certificate.Each virtual race is $40 or $142 for the entire series. In addition, medals shipped outside the U.S. will require an international shipping charge of $5 per 5K or $15 for the series.
