Lightsaber-Pretzels-1600x640-120279385661

It’s “Revenge of the Fifth” today, yes it’s a Star Wars week, as yesterday was “May the Fourth Be With You.” Since Star Wars is something people are excited about, I decided to look for some fun treats to go along with the theme. Here are Star Wars Lightsaber Pretzels that you can make, courtesy of Disney Family!

What You’ll Need

Pretzel rods

Red candy melts

Lime green candy melts

Electric green gel food coloring (oil based)

Paramount crystals

Black candy melts

Spatula

Wax paper

How To Make It

1 Cover a cookie sheet or steady surface with wax paper.

2 To create a bright red lightsaber, place red candy melts in a microwave safe bowl and heat for 10 seconds at a time until melted. Stir candy melts after each heating.

3 Using a spatula, cover the bottom 3/4 of the pretzel rod with the red candy melt mixture. Place on wax paper to set.

4 To create a glowing green lightsaber, place lime green candy melts in a microwave safe bowl and heat for 10 seconds at a time until melted. Stir after each heating. Add 10 drops of electric green gel food coloring. To maintain a thin consistency, add paramount crystals to the candy melts one tablespoon at a time. We recommend using an oil based food coloring to create the best consistency. Oil based food coloring can be found at any arts and craft store.

5 Using a spatula, cover the bottom 3/4 of the pretzel rod with the red candy melt mixture. Place on wax paper to set.

6 Finish both sets of lightsabers with a black handle. Place black candy melts in a microwave safe bowl and heat for 10 seconds at a time until melted. Stir mixture after each heating.

7 Using a spatula, cover the bottom 1/4 of the pretzel rod with the black candy melt mixture. Place on wax paper to set.
8Allow to set for 15-20 minutes. Enjoy!
