Today In Disney History ~ February 9th


The 88 minute long Pinocchio was distributed by RKO Radio Pictures. Animation for the movie began in September 1938. In 1994, Pinocchio was added to the United States National Film Registry. It cost $2.289 million to make Pinocchio, but initially the movie was in the red making only 1 million by late 1940. As of 2009 the Domestic Total earned by Pinochip with re-releases and VHS/DVD sales was over $84 million.
