TMSM’s Random Acts of Kindness ~ Mini Meet Up at the Osborne Lights

cmasmeetup1

Happy Thursday! It’s time for our acts of kindness blog for the week, and this time, it’s about our TMSM Meet Up, which was held last Saturday at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. As you know, I always truly appreciate the nice people who come out to our meet ups, but last week, I felt bad because it was a lot harder for folks to do so! Let me explain…..

With the beautiful Osborne Lights ending their run at the Studios, I thought it would be fun to do a little meet up with our readers, just something casual so we could visit and enjoy the lights. Well, I didn’t take into consideration that the park could have been extra busy, being that Christmas is almost here plus there are many people out there trying to get to see the lights for one last time. When we headed over to the Studios in the early afternoon, we couldn’t park there. CM’s were directing people to Epcot’s parking lot, so people could park there then get on a bus to the Studios, so that’s what we did. It wasn’t fun, I have to be honest. Epcot’s lot was crazy, and the line for the buses to the Studios was really long. It took us almost an hour to finally arrive. As it got closer to meet up time, I was getting messages from people who were trying to come, that they were having to park at Animal Kingdom and catch a bus from there. I felt really bad that people were having such a hard time. So, we hung around with a few friends and waited, hoping we’d still get to meet up with others.

We headed towards the Lights a few minutes early, because it was so crowded. Now when I say crowded, I mean an absolute sea of people, I’ve never seen the Streets of America so full. We had been visiting the Osborne Lights on and off since they started in November, and I hadn’t seen it quite this bad thus far. We waited a few minutes, and I was starting to wonder who actually made it, as we were getting feedback that people couldn’t get to where we were. Well, to my absolute surprise, some people DID brave the crowds and DID make it! Even with how hard it was to get to the Studios, we still had some Main Streeters come over to say hello, chat and take pictures. We truly appreciate everyone who made it, and we’re sorry to those who wanted to come but couldn’t, it wasn’t easy that’s for sure.

It was just so crowded, that we weren’t able to do a big group picture, but I wanted to share the few pics that I actually DID get. On behalf of myself and our entire staff, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the support and kindness that you show us the whole year through. We thank you for taking the time to come out and see us, and we will be doing more meet ups in 2016, so stay tuned! Thanks again for everything, Merry Christmas! ~M
