Today in Disney’s History June 9th
Cars premiered on 5/26/06 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Concord, NC and it’s theatrical premiere was 6/9/06. Cars earned $60,119,509 in 3,985 theaters in the United States it’s opening weekend. Cars is the second Pixar film to have an entirely non-human cast, the first was A Bug’s Life. It won a Golden Globe for Best Animated Feature Film and was nominated for two Academy Awards.
