TMSM’s Adventures in Florida Living ~ “Spring” is in the air!

fandgsnow

It’s Wednesday, and time for our weekly check in! What’s been going on this week? Well, not nearly as much as last week’s blog, that was a lot to report! This week we were a little more low key, but had fun nonetheless.

As most of you know, Epcot is getting ready for their yearly Flower and Garden Festival, which starts up next week. I have always seen pics and watched videos on the festival, but have never gotten to attend myself. We headed over to Epcot to get pictures of some of the topiaries and flowers they have already put in. I swear, pictures don’t do it justice. The character topiaries are amazing to see, and the area near the monorail track that’s decked out in flowers looks and smells wonderful. They are putting in new additions this year, like the Frozen themed topiaries, so I can’t wait to see that as well. Spring is in the air at Disney, and it’s only February! Be sure to keep watching because we’ll post pics once we have them!

The weather down here in Florida got really cold last week. Well, cold for Florida that is. We had a freeze advisory and temps dropped to around 30 degrees. We were cold, however, not nearly as cold as my home town in Michigan. They had negative 30 wind chills and schools had been closed. The strange thing about Florida is, we can be freezing at one point, and then the weather magically changes to warm again. It’s been hovering around 70 degrees, and I’m happy with that. The kids are good with that too, no complaints of course. Even though it’s cold at “home” I find myself really missing it these past few days. Talking to my parents on the phone helps, but I really wish I could be there with them more often than every few months. I made the mistake of looking at pics that I took this time last year and started crying. I know being here in Florida is what needs to be done for the sake of my job, but my gosh, I really do have some amazing family members and friends at home, and I miss them so much. I miss my old house, I miss being close to my parents house, it was always a safety net or comfort when I needed it. I know we can’t always have things how we want them though, but I do know that I’m where I need to be. When I was still in Michigan last winter, I was freezing and wishing I could be in the Florida sun, and the indecisive parts of me took over. You can’t win, right? So, there’s always good points and bad points of both. I’m just trying to focus on work and look forward to the next visit with my family, because I’m sure it will be here before I know it! I can’t wait until my parents come here again, this time I’m taking them to Epcot, they’ve never been!

In addition to Disney work, we have also been branching out for Off TMSM. A few months back we were invited out to tour the construction site over at the Orlando Eye, at the all new I-Drive 360 Complex. We have kept tabs and have watched the progress, which has been amazing. The complex will be open to the public on May 4th, but we were given a private walk around today with the head of their public relations department, just to see what’s been done. It’s truly outstanding there, the wheel itself is overwhelming, and I’m super excited to see everything once it’s done. Stay tuned to Off TMSM for more updates, I have a blog coming probably tomorrow!

Well friends, that’s it this week for our Adventures in Florida Living. Sorry I got a little sappy this time, but you’ve all been on this journey with me since last year, and I try to be as real with you all as I can. It’s not always easy doing what we do, but when you have the right people around you who believe in your dreams, it makes it so much better. Thank YOU for believing in what we do and giving us the extra push that we need, and thank you as always for sticking by us each week, it’s appreciated. Until next week, I wish you all lots of love, pixie dust and blessings….. See Ya Real Soon! ~M

  1. Thank you for posting your FL adventures, my husband and I are deeply considering moving to FL in our future and the only thing I keep thinking about is missing my family. There’s always a give and take thank you for sharing!
