Disney from a Teen’s Perspective: Park Character Meetings

Hi Mainstreeters! I’m Gabby and I’m going to be writing about Disney from a teen’s perspective. But first let me tell you a little bit about myself. I’m 13 years old and have had Disney Annual Passes my whole life. Disney is literally my second home. I’m an honors student and enjoy school. My favorite sport is volleyball. I play for both my middle school team and the YMCA. I am also a huge fan of Star Wars.

Today I wanted to write about meeting characters at Disney. We all know about EPCOT’s Character Spot and how little kids love to meet their favorite Disney Character. Many people ask if I still like to meet the characters. Let me tell you this, little kids aren’t the only ones. It never gets old to me. Interacting with them can be so much fun no matter how old you are.

Today we (mom, 2yr old brother, and 6 year old sister) went to EPCOT and met Mickey, Goofy, and Minnie at the Character Spot. When you go in with little kids, like my brother and sister, you expect them to get all the attention, but you’re wrong. They all gave me just as much attention as my brother and sister.

The characters definitely made me feel like a little kid again. Mickey gave me hugs and kissed my cheek. Goofy gave me hugs and he danced with my brother, sister, and I. He also walked us over to Minnie and waited with us while Minnie was still greeting guests.  Minnie was great fun too. She was even checking out my TMSM Cover Band!

One more thing about character Meet and Greet that makes me smile; watching my brother and sister interact with them. My brother ran and gave Goofy a big hug. Watching my brother and sister with Goofy was super cute, they gave Goofy hugs, took our picture, and then Goofy was goofing around with us!

Overall, you can never be “too old” to meet the Disney characters. I had a smile on my face the whole time we were in that building. I will forever love meeting any Disney character.

Hi! Gabby I just wanted to tell you my husband and I love meeting the Characters. My hubby ‘s favorite is Goofy. I think that is because when his neice was just learning to talk she called him Goofy instead of Jerry. My youngest son is in his thirties and he is secretly thrilled to meet them too. He makes sure the little ones with us get to meet them. When ever they come for a visit you can usually find them hanging off of Jeremy somehow, or following him around asking questions. He doesn’t mind at all he loves it. You are a big help with your brother and sister and a good student that is great.
