magicbars

The other day in TMSM Fan Nation, a member posted this awesome picture of the Magic Cookie Bars that Disney serves up! The photo caused quite a stir, being that they look so delicious, so I decided to go on a hunt for the recipe. If you’re looking to bring these magical treats to a kitchen near you, follow the instructions below!

Ingredients:

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
1 and 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 and 1/3 cups flaked coconut
1 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup butterscotch chips
multi-colored confetti sprinkles (optional)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (for glass pans) or 350 degrees F (for metal).

Place stick of butter into 9×13-inch pan and place in preheated oven until completely melted.

Remove from oven and carefully swirl so the butter covers sides of pan.

Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs over butter. Spread evenly with a spatula.

Pour sweetened condensed milk over graham cracker layer. Spread evenly.

Sprinkle a layer of coconut over the top, followed by a layer of nuts, chocolate chips and butterscotch. Using a spatula, pat the toppings down into the bottom layers.

Place in oven and bake for 30 minutes.

Remove from oven and top with sprinkles (optional). Let cool completely until they are firm to the touch.

*Thanks to The Disney Diner for the recipe!
