Reasons We Love Hades (the character, not the place!)

May 12, 2014 , ,

Hades is really just the best. He’s sarcastic, full of sass, and can scheme with the best of them. The Disney Insider blog put together some reasons as to why Hades is a fan favorite as a villain.  Per the Insider, he’s not-so-secretly their favorite part of Hercules, and these are just a few of the reasons why:

He knows how to make an entrance.

Snappy joke, check. Those Olympians just don’t appreciate his sense of humor.

It’s regal, really.

He’s patient, which is a great quality.

He waited eighteen years for the planets to come into alignment! He may have had a few temper tantrums in that time but hey, we can forgive those.

He gives a fiery thumbs up.

Sorry Herc, but Hades is really the one who makes steam look cool.

He’s surprisingly thoughtful.

A spiked rattle may not be the most appropriate gift for a young God, but he still brought something!

He’s a creative thinker.

A monster who splits into three heads that then turn into like a hundred? We’re into it.

He’s super smart.

Hades may use his intelligence for evil plans, but he’s still one of the brainiest Olympians.

He’s got style.

  1. When did Hades’ residence become Hades? Although he is Zeus’ brother Hades is not an Olympian which refers to the gods that live on Olympus.
