D23’s Eight Can’t-Miss Attractions Coming to Disney Parks in 2014

D23, the Official Disney Fan Club, has released a list of 8 can’t miss attractions coming to Disney Parks and other fun locations world wide in 2014. Unless an official date has been announced by the parks, TMSM does not know when any of the the new attractions listed below will open. If a “Spring/Summer 2014” date is noted by D23 that means that’s all the opening info there is.. ~Aut

There are so many exciting experiences coming to Disney parks around the world this year. Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland transformation gets a final touch of Pixie Dust with the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train swinging roller coaster and Disneyland Paris promises the reveal of the the long-awaited Ratatouille attraction. We’ve compiled a list of the upcoming attractions, shows, and adventures that are coming to Disney parks this year.

Ratatouille: L’Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy at Disneyland Paris
A dark ride based on Pixar’s Ratatouille will open in Toon Studio at Walt Disney Studios Park in 2014.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train will bring an E-ticket touch of Disney magic. A coaster designed for families, it will feature a first-of-its-kind ride system with a train of vehicles that swing back and forth like a mine cart, responding to every twist and turn of the track. The journey will be accompanied by music from the beloved Disney film and animated figures from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

The new theater-type attraction will be themed to Disney’s Lilo & Stitch, and can be enjoyed by children and adults. Stitch and the Guests will be the attraction’s main characters. Guests will be able to communicate with Stitch, who is in outer space, in real time over the theater’s large screen. The entire family will enjoy the fun-filled conversations with the mischievous Stitch.

Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade is a new daytime parade that’s set to debut at Magic Kingdom in spring 2014. This procession will specifically highlight the stories of Sleeping Beauty, Dumbo, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Tangled, The Little Mermaid, and Brave.

When the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad refurbishment is complete, Rainbow Ridge Mining Town will look very much the same as it always has. It is being refurbished with new materials, but many items from the original area will be reused such as props, signs and select doors, windows and shutters. Several other items are being turned over to the Disney Archives.

The new itinerary guides families through an eight-day, seven-night epic adventure across the stunning lands of Norway, allowing them to follow the footsteps of the Frozen filmmakers by seeing the places, meeting the people and experiencing the beauty that inspired the setting and the look of the film. As with any Adventures by Disney trip, families can expect to partake in authentic activities that only Disney can provide, from discovering the fjord country by safari to learning Norwegian folk dancing.

Once Upon a Time, an entertainment program that features projection-mapping technology, will premiere at Tokyo Disneyland in 2014. This fantastic and heartwarming nighttime entertainment using projection mapping technology premieres on May 29, 2014. The show begins with Mrs. Potts from the Disney classic film Beauty and the Beast telling her son, Chip, a bedtime story. As the story unfolds, unforgettable scenes from Disney films are recreated through 3D images, moving Disney music, on-stage pyrotechnics and other special effects. Rich and full of wonder, this new entertainment transforms Cinderella Castle into a veritable “storybook come to life.”

Jungle Cruise at Tokyo Disneyland
This popular Adventureland attraction takes Guests on an exciting cruise through the jungles with a humorous skipper at the helm. The renovated Jungle Cruise will have new scenes, new lighting effects and other special show effects, as well as an after-dark only “night cruise.” Guests can look forward to an even more thrilling jungle adventure when they experience the revamped attraction.
