WDW Ice Cream Cart News

Finding ice cream novelties varies between parks. What you find at one resort or park may be hard to find elsewhere. I talked to a cast member who works as a manager in Magic Kingdom outdoor vending which handles the ice cream carts. One thing she mentioned is that Animal Kingdom is one of the few places that you will find the Häagen-Dazs Vanilla and Almonds Ice Cream Bar. Orange Creamsicle type of novelty bars are found at some parks other than Magic Kingdom.

Gone from MK for now are Dibs, Delicias frozen popsicles, and the Triple Blast Fruit Bars. Returning are Edy’s strawberry fruit bars with sugar and Itzkadoozie ice pop. You will not find Coke Zero in carts because they explode. I looked the lady in the eye and there was no sign of joking around. Straight forward honesty. She said they had the people from Coca Cola come out to see the explosions. Well, that’s not good!

Extra Info for those with special dietary needs:

Itzakadoozie
Wild Berry and Zesty Lemon ice pop
INGREDIENTS: water, sugar, citric acid, beet juice concentrate color, natural flavors, guar gum, carob bean gum, ascorbic acid (vitamin C), turmeric extract color.

They are being brought to Magic Kingdom and other parks so keep you eye out for this allergen free snack. Edy’s strawberry bars are back after their winter hiatus.

Edy’s Fruit Bars (sugar version)
INGREDIENTS: Water, strawberries, sugar, carob bean gum, guar gum, citric acid, color (beet juice extract, turmeric extract), natural flavors, ascorbic acid (Vitamin C)

Two more allergy friendly items are the glazed nuts made with a packaged mix and the frozen bananas.
Glazed Almonds
INGREDIENTS: almonds, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, mace, anise, vanilla, processed in a factory that produces tree nuts and peanuts.
.
Chocolate frozen bananas contain soy lecithin, casein/dairy, nuts.

We thank Laurie for the great research and updates!

  1. In the above photo is the pineapple Delicias bar from Nestle.
Itzakadozzie is now a lemon ice bar shaped like the Edy’s strawberry bars with a berry area covering the lemon ice bar. It is more of an ice bar than the strawberry bar. I suggest contacting Nestle or Edy’s if you are concerned about food allergies other than the top 8. Both contain natural flavors, citric acid, and ascorbic acid from unidentified sources other than the top 8 allergens.

I sat in Magic Kingdom across from Pecos Bill’s on 4-16-2013 around 6 pm sending out the bottom half of this article to allergy sites on Facebook. I could have been on Splash Mountain but instead found this more important. Find me on FB and I will try to help you with your questions about WDW. TMSM knows how to find me, she is awesome.
