MLB Opening Day at ESPN

On February 22, 2013 the Atlanta Braves opened the Spring Training Season against the 2012 American League Champions Detroit Tigers. The Atlanta Braves play their home Spring Training Games at Champion Stadium, which is located at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Walt Disney World. There was some royalty on hand for the opening day game. Detroit Tigers 3rd baseman Miguel Cabrera was in attendance. Last season Miguel was the first player in 45 years to win the triple crown. In case you don’t know what the triple crown is, its the league leader in batting average, runs batted in and home runs.

Before the game Cabrera met with King Mickey and Queen Minnie as they welcomed baseball’s royalty to Walt Disney World.

he Atlanta fans are use to seeing their favorite Braves during the Spring Training games, but they also get the opportunity to see some of the greats from the Tigers, Mets, Yankees and the other Major League Teams.
