The Chicken of the Sea Pirate Ship and Restaurant was a restaurant hosted by Chicken of the Sea until 1969. For those wondering where it sat, when you ride Dumbo in Fantasyland you are in the area where the ship was. The Pirate Ship offered such nautical delicacies as hot tuna pie, tuna sandwiches and tuna burgers. The ship wasn’t actually a working ship, but a ship shaped building sitting on concrete in a lake/lagoon, which would end up playing a role in it’s demise. From 1955-1960 it could be found in Fantasyland in a basic pond, in 1960 Disneyland added new elements like Skull Rock were added near the ship to make it look like it was from Peter Pan.
In 1969 when Chicken of the Sea stopped sponsoring it, the ship was renamed Captain Hook’s Galley. When Disneyland began to remodel Fantasyland in 1981, the original plan was to move the “ship” near its a small world. A year into the work the ship still sat, unable to be moved properly. In the end, the parks ended up demolishing it.
