“The Little House” was released on 8/6/1952. This roughly 8 minute long short is based on Virginia Lee Burton’s 1942 Caldecott Medal-winning children’s book “The Little House”

The short tells the story of a little house on a little hill way out in the country built by a loving family. The house initially loves being in the quiet country, but then starts to with for friends. As time goes by urban sprawl spreads and the country becomes the city. Progress and time show the house surrounded by apartment buildings and noise. As the city grows the house becomes forgotten and run down and the house grows sad and lonely as the city grew. Then one day while the house is lonely, has lost hope and is falling apart, the great-great-granddaughter of the man who built the house. She is taken back to the country, remodeled and the family moves in and once again loves her on a little hill way out in the country.
