ABC To Air ” Backstage with Disney on Broadway: Celebrating 20 Years” on 12/14/14

This Sunday night at 7pm EST, ABC will air the one-hour long “Backstage with Disney on Broadway: Celebrating 20 Years” special. The special will explore all eight musicals that were peformed on Broadway in “Great White Way” theaters. The “Great White Way” is the Midtown Broadway District located between 42nd and 53rd Streets.

The special will look at new and current shows like “Newsies”, “Aladdin”, “The Lion King” as well as classics like “Aida”, “Beauty and the Beast”, ” Mary Poppins”, “The Little Mermaid ” and “Tarzan”.  Jesse Tyler Ferguson will host “Backstage”.  And what would a Disney Broadway musical special be without musical performances? Special musical performances will be provided by  Elton John (composer The Lion King and Aida), Adam Jacobs (Aladdin),  Clare Bowen (Mary Poppis) and Sam Palladio (Nashville) will be included. Viewers will also see what back stage is like during “Aladdin”, a “The Lion King” rehearsal, and will see ow a National Tour comes together on the opening night of “Newsies”.
