More Construction Walls Go Up at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

We were at Animal Kingdom just a few weeks ago, and while there were construction walls up around the park, it wasn’t too bad. Well, yesterday, we went back to Animal Kingdom to take pics and such, and to my surprise, there were quite a few new sections closed off, including the picture taking area in front of the Tree of Life. There are green construction walls up everywhere in front of the Tree and across from the Island Mercantile. As you walk around this area towards Africa, you’ll see even more construction walls!

Truthfully, there isn’t a nice photo spot in the front of the Tree of Life at this point, unless you don’t mind the green walls in your picture. We walked to the back side of the tree, and while there were no construction walls up, you could see them working on the area, and there was some screens and a tall crane in sight. A better photo spot for you and your family would be towards Expedition Everest, there’s no construction over there. I just wanted to give our readers a heads up, so that those traveling to Animal Kingdom will know what to expect. More updates to come, so stay tuned!

  1. Are they working on the Tree itself? After a branch fell a few years ago, they hung roping to protect people walking under the Tree, plus they blocked off some of the paths. I’d love for them to remove all that and reopen the paths. Hopefully they are inspecting and securing all the branches to make sure they don’t lose another one. I can’t imagine that any of those construction walls in that area could have anything to do with the future creepy blue land.
