50 Years of The Jungle Cruise – African Veldt

March 5, 2014

This year, 2014, marks the 50th anniversary of a previously undiscovered region at Disneyland park (now navigable on the Jungle Cruise) known as the African Veldt. The Disney Park blog shared these great images of Walt back in the day while they were constructing things and wanted to share them with you all.

Whenever I see these old pictures of Walt like this, I think about all the thoughts he must have had going through his head.  All the details he must have thought of and what more could he do to make it that much better.  As all fans know, Walt demanded a very high attention to detail with everything.  That level of detail is still a driving force behind everything still done today, through the Cast Members, Imagineers and the fans, even though we lost our visionary so long ago, we still appreciate everything he did for us.
