FastPass+ Being Offered at Animal Kingdom for All Guests

December 18, 2013

Beginning today at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, the FastPass+ test will allow all guests to use the new system, including those staying offsite, not in a WDW Resort on Disney Property. During the test, regular paper FASTPASS’s will not be used, giving guests the choice to use FastPass+ or wait in the standby line.

Non-resort guests will not be able to make FastPass+ reservations ahead of time, or using My Disney Experience. Similar to the services provided by FASTPASS, offsite guests will need to visit a FastPass+ kiosk to make the reservations on the day they visit. MagicBands will not be available for non-resort guests. Instead, they will use their RFID enabled ticket media to access the FastPass+ kiosks and touch sensors. So, it will be like the old system, but without the paper tickets.

Guests staying at a WDW Resort will continue to be able to make reservations ahead of time using My Disney Experience. Like with previous tests, guests will be able to make 3 FastPass+ reservations for the day.

The Genie Transportation Services

Kiosk’s for FP+ will be at these locations:

Expedition Everest
Near Disney Outfitters
Kali River Rapids
Primeval Whirl
Outside the service center located at Creature Comforts

Guests can get a FastPass+ for:

Character Greeting at Adventurers Outpost
Kilimanjaro Safaris
Primeval Whirl
It’s Tough to be a Bug!
Expedition Everest
DINOSAUR
Festival of the Lion King
Finding Nemo – The Musical
Kali River Rapids

I think now that they’re testing the new system for guests who aren’t staying at a WDW Resort, this should finally answer some questions that people have been concerned about. If you’ve had the chance to try out the new FastPass+ system, be sure to let us know how your experience was. More information to follow as we receive it!
