Disney is putting together a brand new cast of Mouseketeers, as The Mickey Mouse Club is officially getting a reboot on Disney+. The variety show first debuted all the way back in 1955, and over the past 71 years it has gone through several different versions, each one introducing a new generation of young performers to the world.

The Mickey Mouse Club has an incredible track record when it comes to launching careers. Past Mouseketeers include Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, and Ryan Gosling, just to name a few. Whether this new version reaches that same level of stardom remains to be seen, but Disney is clearly hoping lightning can strike twice.
Disney has already announced the new cast of Mouseketeers who will star in the reboot. The lineup includes Hudson Stone, Casey Trotter, and Brooklynn Pitts, all familiar faces from Camp Rock 3, along with Erianthe Akaata from Young Rock, Scarlett London Diviney from The Lion King, Michael Cash from Black Rabbit, and Elio’s Yonas Kibreab. Rounding out the cast are newcomers Varonica Mitchell, Kauani, Scarlett Grace Petty, and Carter Barnes.

Production on the new pilot is set to begin this month, with Fullwell Entertainment producing alongside executive producers Ben Winston, Ashley Edens, Emma Conway, and Dave Piendak. The format is expected to closely follow past versions of the show, leaning heavily on musical performances while showcasing young talent across the board.
The Mickey Mouse Club has been reinvented a number of times over the decades. The original ran from 1955 to 1959 before being revived as The New Mickey Mouse Club from 1977 to 1979. The most iconic version, The All New Mickey Mouse Club, ran from 1989 through 1996 and became the launching pad for many of the stars mentioned above, along with names like Keri Russell, JC Chasez, Rhona Bennett, and Nikki DeLoach. Disney also tried a social media-focused revival called Club Mickey Mouse from 2017 to 2018, along with international versions in South Korea and Malaysia.

This new push appears to be part of Disney+’s broader effort to connect with younger viewers, who already make up a large share of the platform’s audience. It joins other recent reboot announcements, including a pilot for Aquamarine with original star Emma Roberts returning.

In exciting news for fans of the franchise’s legacy, we are thrilled to announce that five original members of the New Mickey Mouse Club will be joining us at the House of Mouse Expo. At the House of Mouse Expo you can meet Dale Godboldo Jr., Chasen Hampton, Albert Fields, Tony Lucca and Damon Pampolina. This is a rare chance for longtime fans to meet the Mouseketeers who first brought this beloved show to life and hear their memories firsthand, all while the next generation of Mouseketeers prepares to carry the torch on Disney+.
