Disney+ Confirms Return of Its Most-Watched Marvel Series

Disney+ Confirms Return of Its Most watched Marvel SeriesDisney+ has confirmed that its most popular Marvel title of all time is returning for a new season, and the premiere is right around the corner. Marvel programming has become a cornerstone of the Disney+ library, with series like Daredevil: Born Again, WandaVision, and X-Men ’97 generating plenty of buzz among Marvel Cinematic Universe fans. But when it comes to sheer viewership, none of those shows hold a candle to the platform’s real ratings champion.

Disney+ Confirms Return of Its Most watched Marvel Series

That title belongs to Spidey and His Amazing Friends, and Disney+ has confirmed the animated Spider-Man series is heading into Season 5 on July 14. The new season brings a fresh story arc called “Rescue-Webs,” giving young fans another round of adventures with Spidey, Ghost-Spider, and Miles Morales.

Before it lands on Disney+, the new season will actually debut a day earlier on Disney Jr. and Disney Channel on July 13. Disney has now reconfirmed the timeline more than once, making it clear the July 14 Disney+ premiere is locked in.

The numbers behind Spidey and His Amazing Friends are hard to ignore. It’s the most-watched Marvel show ever to appear on Disney+, live-action or animated, and it’s one of only 26 titles in the platform’s history to surpass 1 billion streamed minutes.

What’s Next for Disney+’s Other Big Hits

Spidey isn’t the only major title Disney+ subscribers are keeping an eye on. Here’s where some of the platform’s other heavy hitters stand:

Bluey remains one of the most beloved kids’ shows around, and while Season 4 is officially in development, Disney hasn’t set a release date yet. In the meantime, new Bluey Compilations returned to the service on July 8, and a Bluey theatrical film is still on track for 2027.

The Mandalorian is a trickier case. It’s another of the rare Disney+ shows to cross 1 billion streamed minutes, but Lucasfilm scrapped a fourth season in favor of a feature film that underperformed at the box office. A straight revival looks unlikely for now, though Din Djarin and Grogu could still resurface in a future Ahsoka season or Dave Filoni’s larger Star Wars crossover plans.

Over on the Hulu side of Disney+, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia has wrapped production on Season 18, though no premiere date has been announced. The Simpsons keeps rolling along too, with Season 38 on the way following exclusive Disney+ content like The Simpsons: Simpsley, which dropped July 3. A sequel to The Simpsons Movie is also planned for 2027.

ABC’s The Rookie is expected back with new episodes in early 2027, while Malcolm in the Middle fans are still buzzing over the Life’s Still Unfair revival, with a second season not yet confirmed. And The Handmaid’s Tale universe continues to expand, with Hulu confirming a second season of spinoff series The Testaments, likely arriving sometime in 2027.

For now, all eyes are on July 14, when Spidey and His Amazing Friends swings back onto Disney+ with Season 5.
