Marvel Animation just dropped the Season 2 trailer for X-Men ’97, and things are about to get wild. The beloved animated series returns to Disney+ on July 1, 2026, and this time the X-Men are not just fighting bad guys they are scattered across time itself. The new season is set across an ancient past, the present day, and a distant future, with our favorite mutant heroes struggling to find their way back home while everything falls apart without them.
Back in the 1990s, things are not going much better. With the X-Men missing, suspicious new enemies are emerging and mutant intolerance is on the rise all over again. Season 2 will consist of 9 episodes, and the returning voice cast is stacked, bringing back Cal Dodd as Wolverine, Jennifer Hale as Jean Grey, Lenore Zann as Rogue, Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm, Ray Chase as Cyclops, and more fan favorites. Marvel also dropped a gorgeous tribute poster for the new season, featuring a nod to the iconic Wolverine #1 comic book cover from 1982 by Frank Miller that eagle-eyed fans will absolutely appreciate.
The series is executive produced by Kevin Feige, Brad Winderbaum, and Beau DeMayo, among others, with Jake Castorena returning as supervising producer. Season 1 was a massive critical and fan hit, so expectations could not be higher for what comes next. If this trailer is any indication, Season 2 is going to deliver in a big way.
