Hocus Pocus fans, this one is for you! D23 has officially announced the return of the Black Flame Ball, and this year it is happening in a very special location at a very special time. The event takes place on September 25, 2026, in Salem, Massachusetts, right in the middle of the city’s Quadricentennial, marking 400 years of Salem history. And the guest of honor? None other than Doug Jones, the man behind Billy Butcherson himself from both Hocus Pocus and Hocus Pocus 2!
The fun actually kicks off before the ball even begins. Ticket holders will get to explore Salem with a guided walking tour from Black Cat Tours, hitting historic landmarks and the iconic filming locations from the original Hocus Pocus. Think of it as walking in the footsteps of Max, Dani, Allison, and Thackery Binx before the real magic starts after dark. Then, as the moon rises over Salem, the Black Flame Ball begins at 8 p.m., complete with live music, an open bar, snacks, and of course an appearance by the Sanderson Sisters. Costumes are absolutely encouraged, whether you are channeling your inner witch, “Dad-cula,” or something else entirely!
Tickets go on sale Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET, and are priced at $259 for D23 Gold Members and $299 for General Members (plus a $3 processing fee). Each ticket includes a limited-release Black Flame Ball pin, event credential, and swag bag. D23 Members can bring up to three guests, but ticket quantities are limited and first come, first served, so you will want to move fast on this one! As a bonus, D23 is also hosting a FREE outdoor screening of the original Hocus Pocus on September 24th on the steps of Old Town Hall, open to everyone.
