After a three year wait, Behind the Attraction is finally coming back to Disney+. Season 3 premieres June 24, 2026, and this time the beloved docuseries is leaving the parks behind for the high seas. The new season is a two episode special focused entirely on Disney Cruise Line, featuring first hand accounts from the Imagineers and creatives who helped launch the fleet back in 1998. It also dives deep into the making of the Disney Destiny, the line’s first ship built around a heroes and villains theme. Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Brian Volk-Weiss return as executive producers, the same team behind the first two seasons.

If you need a refresher, season 1 dropped back in July 2021 and quickly became appointment viewing for Disney fans. Across 10 episodes, narrated by Paget Brewster, it dug into the origin stories of attractions like Jungle Cruise, Haunted Mansion, Star Tours, Space Mountain, and Tower of Terror, along with deeper looks at park icons like the castles, the Disneyland Hotel, It’s a Small World, the various forms of Disney transportation, and the Hall of Presidents. It was the kind of show that made you want to immediately book a trip just to look at everything differently.
Season 2 followed in November 2023 with six more episodes, this time spotlighting Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Indiana Jones Adventure, the food culture across the parks, EPCOT as a whole, and the nighttime spectaculars that close out so many magical days. Each episode kept that same formula that made the first season work so well, equal parts history lesson, Imagineering deep dive, and love letter to the fans who keep these attractions alive decades later.

So why has this show stuck with Disney fans the way it has? It taps into something most of us already feel walking through the parks, that sense that there is always more story behind the thing in front of you. Getting actual Imagineers on camera explaining the why behind a ride, not just the how, turns an attraction you have ridden a hundred times into something brand new. Pair that with genuine nostalgia, sharp production, and just enough insider detail to satisfy even the most hardcore fans, and you get a series people have been clamoring for more of since 2023. Now we finally get it, and a fresh subject in Disney Cruise Line to boot. Are you excited to see Behind the Attraction tackle the cruise line, or were you hoping for more parks attractions in season 3? Let us know in the comments.
