Disney+ Sets Premiere Date for Final Season of “The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder” and Announces New Holiday Special. Big news for Proud family fans today, and it comes with a bittersweet twist. Disney+ has officially confirmed that the fourth and final season of “The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder” will premiere on Wednesday, July 29, landing right ahead of the original series’ 25th anniversary. Alongside that announcement, Disney also revealed a brand new stop motion holiday special called “A Proud Family Wizmas,” set to debut later this year on Disney+.
The renewal news arrives alongside word that creator Bruce W. Smith and executive producer Ralph Farquhar have extended their overall deal with Disney Television Animation for another year under their BaR Productions banner, meaning the duo will continue developing and producing series across Disney Entertainment Television.
As for what fans can expect from this final season, the Proud family finds themselves at a major turning point. Penny Proud gets swept into a string of unexpected adventures that challenge both her courage and her sense of identity, and the season promises plenty of action, twists, and heartfelt moments as the family learns once again that they are strongest when they face life’s chaos together.
The full cast is returning for this last ride, including Kyla Pratt as Penny, Tommy Davidson as Oscar, Paula Jai Parker as Trudy, JoMarie Payton as Suga Mama, and Cedric the Entertainer as Uncle Bobby, along with Karen Malina White, Soleil Moon Frye, Alisa Reyes, Carlos Mencia, Alvaro Gutierrez, Raquel Lee Bolleau, Marcus T. Paulk, and Melissa De Sousa rounding out the Proud and Boulevardez households. Season four also brings a star studded lineup of new guest voices joining the show, including Mariah Carey, Chloe Bailey, Lashana Lynch, Ali Wong, Romany Malco, Lorraine Toussaint, and several more, with Anthony Anderson and Tiffany Haddish continuing in their recurring roles.
Since its revival, “The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder” has racked up some serious recognition, including multiple NAACP Image Awards, a Children’s and Family Emmy for Outstanding Casting in an Animated Series, a NAMIC Award, and nominations from both GLAAD and the Annie Awards. This song filled, stop motion holiday special comes from the same creative team behind the series, Bruce W. Smith and Ralph Farquhar, working alongside co-director David Brooks and the Portland based stop motion studio HouseSpecial. Composer Kurt Farquhar is returning as well, bringing six brand new original songs to the special.
With a final season and a holiday special both on the way, it sounds like 2026 is shaping up to be a huge year for the Proud family, even as fans prepare to say goodbye to the series after this milestone anniversary run.
