“The Magic of Disney Animation” Details, Hollywood Studios. It looks like 2o26 is going to be an exciting year at Walt Disney World! From new offerings, attractions and travel deals, there is so much to watch for. One thing specifically that I wanted to mention is The Magic of Disney Animation at Hollywood Studios. This area is where the former Animation Courtyard used to be. Disney gave us a look at what new features this area will have and it’s going to be a good time for sure! Here’s the scoop!
“The Magic of Disney Animation” will officially open in late Summer 2026, welcoming guests into the wonderful world of Walt Disney Animation Studios and its most popular creations. Much like the award-winning short Once Upon a Studio, the space will feel alive as animated characters spring from their portraits, sketch alongside us, and guide us into a vibrant “Drawn To Wonderland” playground inspired by Disney Legend Mary Blair’s original Alice in Wonderland concept art. Also, a new Mickey Mouse Clubhouse show is coming! You may have caught this show over at Disneyland Resort in California, but soon you’ll get to join in on the fun at WDW too!
You’ll also get to enjoy “Off the Page!”—an amazing new spot brought to life through a fabulous collaboration between Walt Disney Animation Studios and Walt Disney Imagineering. This vibrant area invites you to meet some of your favorite Disney friends across six immersive departments inspired by the real animation studio:
• Story
• Layout
• Hand-Drawn Animation
• Computer Animation
• Lighting
• Effects
Each space is packed with incredible photo moments! Strike a pose with Mulan in the Story department as you stand before a larger-than-life storyboard panel. Then wander into the Layout department, where Rapunzel is waiting in a whimsical setting inspired by the classic multiplane camera. Line up your shot just right, and you’ll watch the layers of backgrounds and painted cels blend together like pure Disney magic! I personally cannot wait to see this area and all that it will offer, especially the new area with Rapunzel!
