Full Breakdown: Marvel Studios Reveals Upcoming Movies and Series at NYCC 2025. This past weekend, New York Comic Con 2025 took over the Javits Center, and Marvel Studios delivered some major news. Brad Winderbaum, who oversees Streaming, Television, and Animation, led the Marvel panel and gave fans updates across both Marvel Animation and Marvel Television.

Marvel Studios Booth Nycc 2025

The panel, hosted by Brandon Davis, was split into two sections — one for animation and one for live-action. Each segment came packed with trailers and surprises for five upcoming series.

The Genie Transportation Services

Before diving into the announcements, Winderbaum took a moment to reflect on Marvel’s legacy:

“We’re standing on that 85-year legacy. So many writers, artists, and filmmakers have brought these characters from one generation to the next… It’s really about those character relationships that have been built over time. Whether it’s Peter Parker and Lonnie Lincoln, or Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk — these are characters who challenge each other and force each other to grow.”

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man – Season 2

Winderbaum kicked things off with a trailer for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2, launching Fall 2026. He praised showrunner Jeff Trammell for digging deep into Peter Parker’s history — and hinted that a certain “black, oozy substance” (yes, Venom) plays a big role this season.

The trailer featured Peter checking in on Norman Osborn, glimpses of Gwen Stacy, and classic villains like Doctor Octopus, Chameleon, and Scorpion causing chaos. Fans also spotted Nico Minoru experimenting with her magical powers. The preview ended with a thrilling standoff between Spider-Man, Blindspot, and Daredevil — voiced once again by Charlie Cox.

 X-Men ’97 – Season 2

Next up was one of the biggest crowd-pleasers of the panel. Winderbaum brought out Eric and Julia Lewald, the creators of the original X-Men: The Animated Series, to announce they’re returning as executive producers for X-Men ’97!

The crowd went wild as the trailer rolled, teasing an epic Season 2 coming to Disney+ in Summer 2026 — and the surprise news that a third season is already in development.

The trailer opened with a nostalgic callback to Apocalypse’s first appearance before revealing that the X-Men are now scattered across time. Rogue, Nightcrawler, Beast, Xavier, and Magneto are in Ancient Egypt, while Cyclops and Jean Grey travel to the future, inspired by the classic comic The Adventures of Cyclops and Phoenix.

Meanwhile, Wolverine is alive and teaming up with Morph, Sabretooth, and Lady Deathstrike in the show’s 1990s timeline, as Bishop works to reunite the team. Fans also caught glimpses of Psylocke, Archangel, Polaris, Danger, and X-Factor, along with Sunspot and Jubilee sharing some screen time. Sharp-eyed viewers even spotted Omega Red and Colossus making appearances.

Daredevil: Born Again – Season 2

Switching to live-action, Marvel revealed a new trailer for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.

The footage showed Matt Murdock and Karen Page reconnecting, only for their happiness to be shattered when Matt is attacked by a mysterious sonic weapon. Fans also saw the return of Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones and the introduction of a new character played by Matthew Lillard.

Charlie Cox and Krysten Ritter

After the trailer, Charlie Cox joined the stage and shared his excitement about continuing the story, saying how much he loves working with Vincent D’Onofrio and the rest of the team. Ritter echoed that sentiment, calling it “surreal” to step back into Jessica’s shoes and work with Charlie again.

Wonder Man

Marvel then debuted the only trailer shown publicly — Wonder Man.

For those unfamiliar, Wonder Man’s alter ego Simon Williams is a Hollywood actor who gains ion-based powers like super strength, flight, and near invulnerability. He started as an Avenger foe but later became a member of the team.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II (formerly DC’s Black Manta) takes the lead, explaining how he wanted to play a character who could “live, breathe, smile, and be nervous,” after doing darker roles.

Joining him is Sir Ben Kingsley, reprising his beloved role as Trevor Slattery. Kingsley reflected on his long history with Marvel and praised director Destin Daniel Cretton for bringing the project together, calling the experience “a gift that keeps on giving.”

VisionQuest

The panel closed with VisionQuest, the long-awaited series starring Paul Bettany.

Bettany explained that White Vision has all of Red Vision’s memories but struggles to connect emotionally with them — that journey will be the focus of the show. Much of the story unfolds inside Vision’s mind, where he encounters human versions of Marvel’s A.I. characters like J.A.R.V.I.S., F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., and Ultron (voiced once again by James Spader).

The show will also introduce a young adult version of Tommy, Wanda and Vision’s other son. VisionQuest is set to debut sometime in 2026.

My Thoughts

That is all the Marvel Announcements from New York Comic Con 2025 and honestly, it’s an incredible lineup. From X-Men ’97’s coming back for season 2 and 3 to finally seeing VisionQuest coming soon it’s a great time to be a Marvel Fan. Although there are other series I wish would get a 2nd season, I can’t wait to see what’s next when these series finally hit Disney+!
