We have learned that Mickey’s Toontown in Disneyland was evacuated due to reports of an explosion in a trash can.

Sgt. Bob Dunn of the Anaheim Police Department said authorities received a call around 5:30 p.m. to investigate the explosion, and when they arrived, they discovered dry ice in a water bottle, in the trash can.

“We believe it was a chemical reaction that exploded the bottle,” Dunn said. “The bottle failed when the dry ice sucked all of the oxygen out of it, possibly causing the explosion.”

Dunn said no injuries or damage have been reported. “Out of abundance of caution, Disneyland decided to evacuate Toontown,” Dunn said. “That’s the only part of the park affected.”

Still, the Orange County sheriff’s department bomb squad unit was called to investigate, Dunn said.He said nothing so far has led authorities to suspect the explosion was an act of terror.

RESPONSE FROM DISNEYLAND:

“This afternoon, a small bang was heard in a trash can at Mickey’s Toontown. In an abundance of caution, the area was evacuated. There were no injuries and no reported damage. We are working with local authorities who are now on-site and reviewing.”

Can you believe this?  Horrible!!  More info to follow!!
