Paul Rudd Auctioned Avengers: Doomsday Premiere Tickets Without Marvel‘s Approval. Marvel is known for keeping its secrets locked down tighter than a Vibranium vault, which is why this story made me laugh. Imagine casually auctioning off tickets to one of the most anticipated movie premieres of the decade… and then realizing you may have forgotten to ask Marvel if that was okay first. That’s exactly what happened when Paul Rudd, everyone’s favorite Ant-Man, found himself in a hilarious situation while helping raise money for a great cause. Thankfully, it all comes from a place of generosity, and fans are loving his reaction.

Paul Rudd Auctioned Off Avengers: Doomsday Premiere Tickets Before Asking Marvel
Leave it to Paul Rudd to accidentally create one of the funniest Marvel stories of the year.
During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Rudd revealed that he auctioned off tickets to the world premiere of Avengers: Doomsday as part of his annual Big Slick Celebrity Weekend charity event. There was just one small problem…
He never asked Marvel if he could.
While discussing the charity fundraiser, Fallon pointed out that one lucky bidder paid an incredible $100,000 for the opportunity to attend the highly anticipated Avengers: Doomsday premiere.
That’s when Rudd dropped the bombshell.
“I didn’t even ask Marvel, I just auctioned them off,” he admitted. “So I’m hoping it’s okay.”
Cue the nervous laughter.
Fallon seemed just as surprised as the audience and immediately asked what would happen if Marvel decided not to approve the arrangement.
Rudd had a simple solution.
“Then my family’s not going,” he joked, explaining that he only receives a limited number of premiere tickets.

Of course, Marvel fans know that keeping spoilers under wraps is practically a company-wide superpower. Fallon couldn’t resist poking fun at Marvel’s reputation for secrecy, joking that the studio is famously relaxed about letting people into screenings and sharing information online.
Rudd played right along.
“Yeah, they’ll let anybody in,” he laughed. “And just tweet whatever you want.”
Thankfully, the story isn’t really about movie tickets at all.
The auction was held to benefit Big Slick, a charity event that Rudd helped launch 17 years ago alongside fellow Kansas City natives Rob Riggle and Jason Sudeikis. What began as a small fundraising effort has grown into one of the area’s biggest charitable events, benefiting Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
According to Rudd, the group’s original goal was simply to raise $50,000 during its first year. Instead, they nearly doubled that amount and quickly realized they had created something special.
Over the years, the event has expanded significantly, bringing in additional celebrity supporters including Eric Stonestreet, Dave Koechner, and Heidi Gardner. Families, volunteers, and local supporters have helped turn Big Slick into a fundraising powerhouse.
Today, the event has raised nearly $40 million for Children’s Mercy Hospital.
Not bad for an idea that started with a poker tournament.
As for the lucky bidder who spent six figures on the Avengers: Doomsday premiere experience, fans are now crossing their fingers that Marvel gives the green light and lets the winning donor enjoy the event alongside Ant-Man himself.
Avengers: Doomsday Is Shaping Up to Be Massive
Even without this amusing ticket saga, Avengers: Doomsday is already one of the most talked-about films on the horizon.
The movie arrives following The Fantastic Four: First Steps and Spider-Man: Brand New Day and is expected to introduce Robert Downey Jr.’s version of Victor Von Doom to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The cast is stacked with returning Marvel favorites and fan-favorite newcomers, including Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Chris Hemsworth, Simu Liu, Florence Pugh, Patrick Stewart, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Rebecca Romijn, Tenoch Huerta, and many more.
With anticipation continuing to build, it’s no surprise that a chance to attend the premiere generated a $100,000 winning bid.
Now all that’s left is for Marvel to answer one very important question:
Did Paul Rudd actually have permission?
Honestly, this sounds exactly like something Scott Lang would do. The good news is that regardless of what happens with the premiere tickets, the money raised is helping children and families through Children’s Mercy Hospital, which is what really matters. Still, I can’t help but imagine a few Marvel executives doing a double take when they heard that Paul Rudd had already sold access to one of their biggest premieres. Hopefully everything works out, because if someone spent $100,000 to attend Avengers: Doomsday, that’s a story they’ll probably want to tell for the rest of their lives.
