Star Wars: The Bad Batch creator Dave Filoni is getting his own action figure based on his character in The Mandalorian. Filoni’s work in the Star Wars franchise has long made him a favorite amongst long-time fans. Even George Lucas himself took a shine to the man, making Filoni the “chosen one” of Star Wars creatives currently.

Finding his passion for animation early on, Filoni’s name rose to prominence for his work on Nickelodeon’s Avatar: The Last Airbender, Fox’s King of the Hill, and Disney’s Kim Possible. Being a big Star Wars fan, Filoni jumped at the opportunity to work with George Lucas on his Clone Wars series, where the pair got to know one another. Even after Lucas sold Lucasfilm to Disney, fans have felt the franchise continues to be safe in Filoni’s George-Lucas-approved hands. He has proven his skill with hit series like Star Wars: The Clone WarsStar Wars: RebelsThe Mandalorian, and The Bad Batch, not to mention his direct involvement in creating fan-favorite characters Ahsoka Tano and clone Captain Rex.

Thanks to an update on the Hasbro Pulse website, fans have their first look at Bad Batch creator Dave Filoni’s new action figure. Filoni’s character, New Republic fighter pilot Trapper Wolf, was introduced during the 1st Season of The Mandalorian. He was one of three pilots in the episode (all played by season 1 directors making cameos) who follow Mando’s beacon back to the pirate space station led by mercenary Ranzar “Ran” Malk and destroy it. Trapper is seen again in the 2nd Season as one of the New Republic pilots who investigates Mando’s crashed ship, the Razor Crest, and helps fight off the ice-spiders attacking Mando and his passengers. The name “Trapper Wolf” is partly inspired by Filoni’s love of wolves, as evidence in numerous series like Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels.

If anyone deserves their own action figure, it is Dave Filoni. The man’s Herculean efforts to maintain the high standards of the Star Wars franchise have resulted in several successful projects. Luckily Disney/ Lucasfilm seem to appreciate what Filoni is doing, as evidenced by his recent promotion to executive producer and executive creative director for the studio. Hopefully, fans will get to see even more of Trapper Wolf in upcoming seasons of The Mandalorian and/or The Book of Boba Fett.
