Uh-oh… I smell trouble! Today, we celebrate everyone’s favorite trouble-making space invader: Experiment 626, Stitch! That’s right; it’s Stitch Day, and to celebrate, let’s take a tour to learn how Stitch is wreaking havoc at our parks and resorts, and we’ll also check out some fun Stitch-inspired items you can enjoy at home!
Let’s begin in the tropical islands where it all started for our pal Stitch: Hawaii! Say “aloha” to Stitch and Angel at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa. Experiment 626 and Experiment 624 are seriously couple goals. Angel joined Stitch at Aulani a few months ago, and they have been stealing guests’ hearts ever since!
You never know where Stitch may be “hangin’ ten” at Disneyland Resort, so keep an eye out! There have been Experiment 626 sightings in Tomorrowland at Disneyland park as well as in Paradise Garden Park at Disney California Adventure park. Where will you spot him?
If you blast on over to Walt Disney World Resort, Disney Springs now has a limited-time availability Stitch mini-mousse at Amorette’s Patisserie. This lemon chiffon cake has a blueberry mousse, lemon curd bomb and white chocolate crispy pearls that make for a taste that’s truly out of this world. It’s only available through June 28 and while supplies last, so gobble it up soon!
And this weekend only at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, satisfy that sweet tooth with a special Stitch cone featuring blue vanilla ice cream, white chocolate ears and “galactic” popping candy, all served in a waffle cone at Pineapple Lanai. Then head over to Capt. Cook’s for a Stitch milk chocolate dome cake with white chocolate ganache icing and white chocolate ears!
The galaxy’s most wanted extraterrestrial can also be spotted at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. If you head over to Tomorrowland, you may find Stitch steering the spaceship on the Orbitron, celebrating his big day. This is an amazing photo op, and just so darn cute!
Hong Kong Disneyland Resort also has a wide selection of Stitch merchandise for you to take home, including plush, apparel, accessories, bag charms, stationery and pins. These are must-haves for all Stitch fans! Mix and match new costumes for your Disney nuiMOs photo buddies, Stitch and Angel, to stay ahead of the fashion trends.
Speaking of Disney nuiMOs plush, do you have the latest outfit for yours? You can find them at Mickey’s of Hollywood and Disney Springs at Walt Disney World and at Disney Showcase and Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort. Personally, I’m partial to the Denim Jacket and Knitted Hat Set on Stitch, but I can also get behind the sportier, more colorful look of the Striped Shirt with Cap and Sneakers. Don’t forget about Stitch’s partner in crime, Angel, who rocks a White Blazer Jacket with Gingham Skirt Set like no other!
Stitch has got to be exhausted from all that traveling! So I can’t blame him for wanting to take a nap. The Stitch Cuddleez Plush is the perfect companion for a little snuggle. Many of you may have seen Stitch popping up all year long with Stitch Crashes Disney, a monthly series featuring plush and pins where Stitch crashes iconic Walt Disney Animation Studios scenes. Next month, stay tuned cause Stitch will be crashing my personal favorite, “Aladdin”!
The celebration doesn’t stop there! Global retailers are also honoring this adorable science experiment that went wrong (or did it go so, SO right??).
