Hey there Main Streeters! runDisney has released even more details for this year’s Virtual Running Shorts Series. As was previously announced, Mickey’s trusty pal Pluto will be this year’s host and the medals have been re-themed to fit this dog-gone good time.

In June, participants will complete a 3.1 mile run, walk, jog, or stroll on a course of their choosing to receive the commemorative Pluto Dog Tag Finisher Medal. Registration for this race is $40. In July, participants will complete a 3.1 mile run, walk, jog, or stroll on a course of their choosing to receive the commemorative Pluto Dog Bowl Finisher medal (also a $40 registration fee). The series concludes in August, where participants will complete a 3.1 mile run, walk, jog, or stroll on a course of their choosing to receive the commemorative Pluto Dog House Finisher Medal (also a $40 registration fee). The individual race fees have gone up $1 in price.

Participants who wish to complete all three virtual races are encouraged to sign up for the Virtual Running Shorts Series (registration fee: $142; same cost as last year). By doing so, participants will receive the above-mentioned medals plus a commemorative Pluto Series Finisher Medal, Coolcore Towel, and commemorative dog tag and collapsible bowl for your favorite four-legged running buddy (if you register by April 30). A portion of race fees will be donated to the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando.

While images of these medals have not yet been released, based on the names and last year’s finisher medals, you can visualize what they might look like. In addition to these medals, when you register you will have the option to purchase new commemorative items such as a shirt, jacket, hat, pin, or magnet to celebrate your achievement.

As with last year, these races are solely on the honor system, meaning participants do not have to submit their times or distances to runDisney to receive their medals (though runDisney does encourage posting photos and information on social media while using “#runDisneyShorts”. On their website, runDisney states that “Runners will receive a finisher medal within 30 days of the race timeframe completion or sooner”, with medals shipped to the physical address provided during registration. If last year is any indication, series participants will receive their medals after the conclusion of the series (sometime in September this year).

Registration for this race begins at Noon EST on April 11. For more information, please visit the runDisney website (https://www.rundisney.com/virtual-running-shorts/).
