You don’t have to be a Tatooine Jawa to find this droid – simply make your own at home! Grab your droid tools and a fellow Jedi, because you’re going to make your very own R2-D2 in your own home. Snip and stick to see an ordinary piece of furniture transform into an R2-series astromech droid! (Brooks Propulsion rocket booster not included!)
- R2-D2 sized piece of furniture
- Printer
- Scissors
- Glue
- Paintbrush
- Paint (silver and dark blue)
- Masking tape
- R2D2 Pattern
How To Make It
- Print the template and cut out the R2-D2 bits and pieces. Choose an item of furniture and paint the top quarter with silver paint and allow to dry
- Paint strips of masking tape with your blue paint and allow to dry
- Apply the blue masking tape leaving a collar of silver visible below the tape
- Glue and add your droid pieces as space allows
- After allowing everything to dry, you now have your own R2-D2 unit!
