Disney Launches New “Dream Big, Princess” Campaign

This past summer at the D23 Expo it was announced that Disney would be releasing a new Disney Princess themed campaign centered around each of the 11 official Disney Princesses positive character traits and the qualities that help them achieve their dreams. Last week Disney announced that their new “Dream Big, Princess”  was now live, and would “bring these great stories front and center to inspire girls and kids around the world to realize their full potential and dream big.”

Over the next year this new campaign with the tagline “For every girl who dreams big, there’s a princess to show her it’s possible.” will air on Disney TV channels.  The campaign states that it will “be celebrated with new themes each month tied to the Disney Princesses, such as kindness, friendship and adventure. If you’re staying in one of our resorts or ships, tune your in-room TV to the Company Clips channel to experience the stories of real-life young girls who have dreamed big.”

Each princess also has her story posted and site visitors can either read it themselves, or listen along as it is read to them. The new campaign also has an Instagram account @TheDisneyPrincesses.

The new campaign also has a  video “Dream Big, Princess | Be A Champion”.  Disney will be launching this new campaign on TV as well be debuting “Dream Big, Princess” on the Disney Channel during “The Night of Big Dreams” airing  2/19 from 7:30–9 p.m. ET.  “The Night of Big Dreams” will feature new episodes of Bunk’d and Girl Meets World.  Disney Junior will also be involved in the new campaign and will start airing “Dream Big, Princess” during the “Day of Big Dreams” airing on 2/26 from 8 a.m.–2 p.m. ET.

What about the boys? They need just as much encouragement as girls. Does Disney only care about the girls? My son likes watching Disney shows so it’s disappointing that Disney is ignoring half of its fan base.
