TMSM Explains: Disney Movie Rewards

DMRWhat would you say if I told you that you could earn free Disney items just by buying Disney DVDs, Blu-Rays, CDs and going to Disney movies in the theater? Many of you would say “Get OUT, how?!?!” while others would reply with “Disney Movie Rewards is a great way to earn free Disney items such as Blu-rays & DVDs, Clothing & Accessories, Collectibles, Electronics,Gift Cards & Coupons, Movie Memorabilia and more.” Getting started with Disney Movie Rewards is simple. First visit the Disney Movie Reward website and open a free account.

DMR1Once you have done this start buying Disney movies, CDs, etc. Each option may allow you to earn points, and each option varies a bit as to how you claim those points. Different movies and items have different points available for you to earn, and these point amounts can change.

DMR6Inside select from eligible Blu-rays and DVDs you will find a code on a Disney Movie Reward’s flyer. Enter this code into the “ENTER MAGIC CODE” box in your DMR portal and the points will be applied to your account. If the voucher is missing, don’t worry. DMR will let you go to the “missing codes” section of the site to claim a code for your movie. To go through this process you will need a a photo of your original receipt and your Blu-ray or DVD to create a proof of purchase.

Make sure that when you sign up for that account you use the same email and password to make syncing accounts easier.  Once you have an account you can synch your existing iTunes, , Google Play, Amazon Video, and/or Microsoft accounts with your “DODMA” account. Once you do this the eligible Disney movies you have purchased online will be shared between all your connected accounts. Also ‘check your shelves for Disney Movies Anywhere – eligible movies with Digital Copy, enter the Magic Codes and add them instantly to your Collection” as this will allow you to access them on all your accounts and apply any DMR points to your account.DMR5Eligible Disney CDs will earn you points. Insert your Disney CD into your computer, log into DMR, and go here to receive your DMR points.

DMR3When you go to a movie theater, remember to save your ticket stub. Take a photo of the stub (or a screen shot of your digital movie ticket) for any current and eligible Disney theatrical releases and go here to upload your stub photo to earn DMR points.

DMR2There are also FREE ways to earn DMR points. Members can participate in surveys found in the  “MY DMR” section of their account, and on occasion DMR will post codes for free points on their Facebook, Pinterest, and other social networking sites.

Once you start earning points you have the option to save up for larger items, or use them on small items. Reward options can vary based on availability. One of the more popular items that members tend to love are Disney Git Cards. On occasion they even offer members limited times offers like mystery items where you use a smaller amount of points for a “mystery DVD” where you use 300 points but don’t know the item you will be receiving until it arrives at your home. Members also can enjoy free rewards, which mostly consists of printable items like printable activity sheets, “poster” images and other fun options. In the case of some rewards you have the option to either spend more points and receive free shipping, or use less points and pay cash for shipping. On occasion you can even use DMR points to pay for special tours.

DMR4Another great feature about DMR that many people may not know about is that is allows you to track what Disney movies you have purchased. The Disc Registration section of “My DMR” will show you a complete list of Disney Movies you have entered into DMR by title and date. This list also allows you to register your disc with Disney, which makes the process of ordering replacement discs much easier. Also, it in the case of a home emergency, it helps you provide a list of your Disney movies to your insurance agency.

DMR isn’t for everyone, and is only available in select areas. But for those that want to take the time to create an account, and register their movies with DMR, the rewards can be fun!
