The Main Street Electrical Parade originally ran from June 11, 1977 – September 14, 1991, it was replaced by SpectroMagic. It then ran in Disneyland Paris from April 12, 1992 – March 23, 2003. It returned to Walt Disney World on June 6, 2010 and is still running nightly.

The Main Street Electric Parade was created by Bob Jani and Ron Miziker. The parade original ran from June 17,  1972 until November 25, 1996 at Disneyland.  It was sponsored by Energizer from 1972 until 1985, and  General Electric from 1985 until 1996. It’s “underlying theme song” is the 1967 “Baroque Hoedown” created by Jean-Jacques Perrey and Gershon Kingsley.

The parade’s famous opening announcement is “Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls! Disneyland proudly presents our spectacular festival pageant of nighttime magic and imagination. In thousands of sparkling lights, and electro-synthe-magnetic musical sounds: the Main Street Electrical Parade!”
