TMSM’s Adventures in Florida Living ~ School’s Almost Out!

Happy Wednesday Main Streeters! I hope you’re all doing well! We’re busy as usual but doing great! School is almost out here in Central Florida, and I have two boys who are thrilled about that. The school year felt pretty long, and of course cuts into fun time, so we’re looking forward to the break.

Last weekend was a hot one around town. It’s been humid, and the parks have been crowded, especially Hollywood Studios because of Star Wars Weekends. The Studios have been so crowded, that we haven’t gotten to enjoy SWW much so far, it’s crazy busy over there! We were supposed to go to the Studios on Saturday, but it was just too hot and crowded, so we went to the Magic Kingdom for a few hours instead. I feel like even though we’ve gone to the parks over the past few weeks, it’s been either work trips or to meet up with people, so we haven’t done too much. I never imagined going to Disney and not going on rides, but it happens. I’m hoping to change that this weekend.

We did get a nice break last weekend, and stayed at the B Resort and Spa near Downtown Disney. I’m telling you, it’s a beautiful hotel, and it’s walking distance to Downtown Disney. They also have an amazing restaurant inside called American Q, which has great food, lots of meat choices and awesome sides and desserts. I highly recommend it!

So, tomorrow is the older half of Monsters Inc, Andrew’s Birthday. Yes, another first for us, another Florida birthday. It’s funny because out of all the things he has to choose from, as far as birthday activities, he wants to go to Buffalo Wild Wings and the comic book store. That’s what we used to do at home in Michigan, so I think he just wanted to find a little bit of normalcy for his day. I’m hoping to get him over to Star Wars Weekends in the next few days too, so he can wear a Birthday button and get that experience as well. We shall see!

Well, that’s it for this week. Another worthy mention however, is that we did get an interview with Star Wars star Ashley Eckstein last week! Our teen writer Gabby did an q&a with Ashley and we’ll be giving you the details on that soon, so stay tuned! As always, thanks for keeping up with our Florida adventures, we really appreciate it! Until next week…. See ya real soon! ~M
