The Next Installment of Turner Classic Movies “Treasures from the Disney Vault” Will Air This Week!

IndexThis Sunday (3/15) starting at 8 pm EST Turner Classic Movies will air its second installment of “Treasures from the Disney Vault” which was announced in November. The “Treasures from the Disney Vault” series features live-action movies and documentaries, animated movies and shorts, TV shows and more. The selections for the second installment are all TCM premieres.
The night will start at 8pm with Sean Connery’s epic leprechaun filmed movie “Darby O’Gill and the Little People” (1959) which is celebrating it’s 60th anniversary. Darby will be followed by “Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color: I Captured the King of the Leprechauns”  (1959) which was look into the folklore that inspired the movie Darby O’Gill.
The first animated short of the night will be the Silly Symphony cartoon “Babes in the Woods” (1932) at 10:45 pm. Fantasia fans will be excited to know that the next  documentary to air will be “Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color: The Story of the Animated Drawing” (1955) which features Fantasia’s “The Nutcracker Suite” while looking into the history of animation.

B qlqcqxeaijvnzjpg LargeAt 12 am Donald Duck fans will be over the moon to see Donald and his South American adventures in “The Three Caballeros” (1944). At 1:30 am “Walt & El Grupo” the 2008 documentary behind Walt and his creative team’s goodwill tour to South America will air.  The night will end with the 3:45 am showing of the live action movie “The Fighting Prince of Donegal” (1966), a movie about the 16th century Irish prince “Red” Hugh O’Donnell. “The Fighting Prince of Donegal” will probably be DVR-ed by the majority of our East Coast Main Streeters as it is 2-hours long.
