In 2013 New Balance and runDisney teamed up to release men and women’s Disney themed sneakers in Minnie and Mickey patterns that could only be purchased at runDisney Expos. Due to the popularity of these amazing running shoes, in 2014 New Balance released 2 styles of sneakers in men and women’s shoes (Mickey, Minnie, Cinderella, and Goofy) and in 1 pattern for girls and boys (Mickey and Minnie). Along with all this “line up expansion” a race kit with special shoe inserts that highlighted the seven runDisney Races and lace charms. Also in 2014 due to the popularity of the New Balance runDisney sneakers, a “virtual queue” was created allowing runners to receive a time at the expo to come to the New Balance booth to try on and purchase shoes.
One of the questions that has been appearing lately on runDisney threads has been “When will we see the 2015 New Balance runDisney sneakers?” Today New Balance decided to release a BIT of info on this topic. It seems “due to popular demand and limited availability in 2014” New Balance will be bringing back out the 2014 860v4 Mickey and Minnie sneakers and the 890v4 Goofy and Cinderella sneakers at the Expos for the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend and Star Wars Half Marathon. In their announcement New Balance assured readers there IS a 2015 design coming and that it will be released in the next couple of weeks, and will be available for sale at the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend.
Runners can use their bib number starting on 6a,m 1/7 and 1/9 to sign up for New Balance’s Virtual Queue. All other guests can sign up on 1/8 and 1/10.
As a reminder New Balance runDisney sneakers can only be purchased at runDisney expos and are not available for sale in the parks, the Disney Store, or through New Balance directly. Any one is welcome to visit a runDisney Expo, these events are not closed to runners only.
