Talking Tech: The Innovations of Big Hero 6

Following the recent launch of a Frozen-inspired programming tutorial, Disney is furthering their support of computer science education with a new tech talk from Big Hero 6 producer Roy Conli. Roy sat down in the Walt Disney Animation Studio to discuss the role that technology plays in telling modern animated stories, and how it has inspired Disney’s latest blockbuster. The result is a fascinating look behind the scenes of the filmmaking process from one of today’s top veteran producers who knows it best.

Here is a bit more about the initiative:

Launched in 2013, is a non-profit dedicated to expanding participation in computer science by making it available in more schools, and increasing participation by women and underrepresented students of color. Our vision is that every student in every school should have the opportunity to learn computer science. We believe computer science and computer programming should be part of the core curriculum in education, alongside other science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) courses, such as biology, physics, chemistry and algebra.
