Happy Wednesday all! Time for our Florida Living check in! I realized while getting ready to write this week’s update that we are at the 4 month mark of our big relocation. I can’t believe I’ve been gone from Michigan for that long, that’s a first for me. We’re doing good here, still trying to get used to the season not changing, but so far so good. I think we’re still in that adjustment period, but I’m proud of myself that I haven’t had too much doubt or too many breakdowns over the move. I guess I was a little stronger than I thought, and that’s a good thing! Sometimes we never know what we are capable of handling, until we actually force ourselves to do it.
Things have been pretty low key this past week. I haven’t gone to the parks too much, due to the fact that it’s been crazy busy down here. In previous years, we’d always go to Disney in the Fall because it was their “down time” and there wasn’t much of a crowd. This year, I’m not sure what’s happening, but it’s really, really busy, at all the parks! We went to Hollywood Studios on Monday morning, just to get some pics, and it was packed. Even Star Tours had almost an hour wait time, and that never happens. Last weekend we didn’t even step foot into a park, because there were no FastPass times available, and things were packed to the max. I heard people say they went to the Magic Kingdom, saw how crowded it was, and turned around and left. As locals, we have the luxury of picking and choosing when we go to a park, and if it’s too busy we can hold off. When visiting on vacation, you have to take what you can get. Fall used to be somewhat quiet at Disney, but not this year! Maybe the Free Dining offers had something to do with it? Whatever the reason, we’re being more mindful of when we head out!
Time is sure flying by. My parents left here 3 weeks ago, and it feels like it’s been longer. I miss them, miss home, etc. However, next week, I have two more pieces of “home” coming to me! Yes… two of my dearest friends from Michigan, Paula and Michelle are coming to stay with me and attend the Big Meet Up next Saturday. I’m so excited. The boys are excited too, having both their Aunties here with us is like heaven to them, because they get spoiled with attention! Speaking of the meet up…… Oh my goodness! The attendance list has gotten huge, much bigger than I anticipated, and I’m a bit overwhelmed. It still blows me away, that people from all over the country would travel to WDW to meet me and hang out with our staff for the day. What a blessing! So, we’re busy trying to put the finishing touches on the meet up for Epcot next Saturday. I’m hoping and praying that all goes well, and that people have a wonderful time. I have a lot to prepare for in the next week, but I’m looking forward to it all. So exciting!
