Agent Carter

Just days away from the release of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC, there is already talk about Marvel’s next television show.  If you saw Captain America: The First Avenger you know who Agent Peggy Carter is.  If you haven’t seen it, and why haven’t you, I’ll try to explain who Agent Peggy Carter is.  Agent Carter is an English officer with the Strategic Scientific Reserve.  She is the type of agent that feels she can do everything anyone else can do, as she is living in a man dominated era.  For the time period she is set in, she is always fighting to show others she is just as good of a soldier as any man.  Steve (Captain America) treats her different though.   He gives her complete and total respect and doesn’t see her differently than any other solider.  As time goes on she begins to have feelings for him.  SPOILER ALERT: As the end of the movie draws near, Agent Carter and Steve Rogers are talking and planning their first date.  Unfortunately, both of them know that will never happen as Steve is about to crash the plane he is flying into the ocean to rid the world of the tesseract.  Steve doesn’t pass away, but ends up being frozen for 70 years till he wakes up in New York and meets Nick Fury.

Disney and Marvel are not commenting yet on the Agent Carter show.  The reason for the rumors, on the Iron Man 3 DVD/Blu-Ray that is being released on the 24th of this month, there is a short featuring Agent Carter.  Some believe this short is the pilot for the show.  Haley Atwell reprises her role in the short so that would possibly point to her being on the show if it comes to be and picked up.  The short takes place about 1 year after the Captain crashed the plane into the ocean and was frozen.  In the show Agent Carter is trying to establish her career as a special agent.

Just a reminder that the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. show starts Tuesday night on ABC.  Check your local listings for time.  As we get more updates in regards to this series Agent Carter, we will be sure to pass the information along.
