You all know how much we love the Pirates of the Caribbean series and Captain Jack Sparrow here at TMSM. We are delighted to say that the new attraction, The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow, is now OPEN at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. With all the attention the New Fantasyland has gotten, we wanted to bring this new attraction to the forefront, because it’s an awesome addition to DHS. Hollywood Studios needed something fresh and new, and this attraction offers just that.
Located at Soundstage 4 between the Toy StoryMania! and the Walt Disney: One Man’s Dream exhibits, you will be excited to be part of this inter-active Pirate show, featuring our favorite Pirate!
The first part of the attraction, the introduction area, features a greeting from a talking skull and crossbones. After that, you are invited and asked if you have what it takes to join Jack Sparrow’s crew. Of course you have what it takes!!
The main show area features pirate gear and decorations, including a full sized model of the ship, the Black Pearl. The ship actually is the “stage” for the main show. This show is geared toward your senses, with lights, sounds, and physical effects as you get a glimpse into the life of a pirate. The best part is that there is a green screen effect, featuring Johnny Depp, which makes it seem that Captain Jack Sparrow is really there!! It’s the next best thing to actually being there with Captain Jack!! Some say it’s so realistic, they had to do a double take!!
The Legend of Captain Jack Sparrow is a welcomed addition to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and we can’t wait to go and check it out!! If you have been there already, please feel free to share your experiences and opinions with us!
