Happy Lunar New Year 2014

From January 31st – February 2, at Disney California Adventure Park, you can celebrate the arrival of the Year of the Horse during the Happy Lunar New Year Celebration.  Each day, from 11:00 am – 5:00 pm, the Paradise Gardens will come to life a joyous tribute to the traditions and family celebrations of the Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese cultures.

In addition to the traditional Disney characters, like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Chip ‘n’ Dale, Mulan and Mushu in the Paradise Garden, they will be joined by a Chinese dragon dance troupe, lion dancers and Vietnamese and Korean dance groups.  Guests will have the chance to also make their own paper lanterns, find their Zodiac animal and learn about it and much more.  Something that is new this year, guests will have the opportunity to take part in the tradition of writing wishes of good fortune and happiness to friends and family.

Also new this year,  commemorative Happy Lunar New Year Celebration t-shirt, featuring the artwork above. Guests may also purchase red envelopes featuring this artwork, that can be used for the Lunar New Year gift-giving tradition.
