One of our Mainstreeters in our Facebook group, TMSM Fan Nation, had shared a DIY Mickey Wreath that she had done a few weeks ago and I thought, what a great idea!  So I decided to give it a try.

She mentioned that she purchased most of the supplies, including the flowers, at the Dollar Store.  I was intrigued because I didn’t think you could make such a beautiful wreath from stuff from the Dollar Store, but I figured I would give it a try.

Off I went to the Dollar Store where I picked up the flowers and two of the floral rings.  My Dollar Store only had 9 inch rings, which are perfect for the ears, but I needed a bigger one for the head so I used my 60% off coupon for the crafting store and got a 12 inch ring for the head.

For the flowers, I went with a patriotic theme.  There are surprisingly a lot of different flowers to choose from at the Dollar Store.  They had flowers out for St. Patrick’s Day and Easter, as well as so many others to choose from.  Really not something I ever looked at in the Dollar Store before, but will certainly do so now!

Once I gathered all my supplies I got to work.  I basically cut the flowers from the stem and added them to the floral rings.

I completed each ring by doing the red, white, and blue pattern and then adding filler flowers as I finished the rings.  Super simple to do.  Once all the flowers were on the ring we attached the two smaller rings to the larger ring with hot glue.  Make sure you hold the rings together until the hot glue dries.  I then added an extra layer of hot glue to ensure it stayed together.  I also added hot glue around the holes where the flowers were stuck into the ring to ensure none fell out.  Honestly, you probably don’t need to do that because the flowers were stuck in pretty tight, but I had a few that were a little looser so I figured the glue would help keep them secure.

And that’s it!  This took me about an hour start to finish and cost me a little under $25.00!  I am already thinking about what I’m going to do next!
